Default Change ALL Green items from Q9 to Q8...

..to give them some real value ESPECIALLY in PvP. Almost NO ONE buys greens anymore, even Urgoz Long or IDS or Rotwing or Ilsunder Staff or etc... can't hardly even GIVE em away to players. The MOST U can get from merch is 35G. Either up the merch price or make em R8 to stimulate trading - might make em very sought after in PVP!!!

There's pretty much no hope for Green items. They were a very flawed concept to start with.

This will only make them TOO valuable and shift the economy, esspecially in PvE. All those Req 9 gold items will be useless to people, and people will demand req 8 gold items instead.

IDS is a gold, not a green. Also R8 doesn't actually do anything for items that aren't a shield.

And why take a green xx over a gold xx with a better skin?

Greens, if you want to promote them as something special, need to be special. Either give them unique skins, or req7-8... This wouldn't make them "insanely valuable" as some people claim, as they're still as easy to farm as ever.

Making them Q7-8 would mean they're nice alternatives for PvP players who need Q7-8 shields...

I don't think green items were meant to hold a lot of value to begin with. Why is there a need to bring up the value of green items anyways? You really want to use green items in pvp that bad?

edit
And I don't see how making them req 8 would effect pvp at all to begin with. If you're using a weapon, chances are, the attribute level is going to be at 9 anyways.

But then we would just be back to late 2005-early 2006 when you HAD to have PvE gear in order to play PvP, because of the large advantage conferred. That was unpopular, to say the least.

Personally, I miss some of the gear tweaks, but a lot of people do not agree.

There's little to be done about this game's flawed system. We can simply hope that the devs learned from their mistakes and get the system in GW2 right.

Seems like it would be silly, at best, to change from what we've functioned perfectly well on for all this time. Not to mention, the rational is a bit twisted. It's simpler to say what's not broken doesn't need to be fixed. PvP and greens weren't made for each other to begin with.

How about:

Screw the fixed requirement system, let people add the requirements THEY want to their weapons.

Nah. 12-16, not 9. At least for actual weapons & shields rather than statsticks.

yea you can't fix the greens market buddy. there's just too many of them. people prefer to pay for creating their custom items (even though most desire the same voltaic spear, BDS, tormented shield etc.)

Doesn't matter what they are tbh

They are too many of them in the market, too easy to get, and any change to them for the better will lower prices of anything else.

The point of greens was cheap widely available max items, not to make people rich.
